My Experience with Utah Fertility Center Egg Donor Program
If you are struggling with infertility and are considering using an egg donor, Utah Fertility Center's Egg Donor Program can help you achieve your dream of parenthood. With over 250 in-house egg donors in their donor database, Utah Fertility Center has one of the largest and most successful egg donor programs in Pleasant Grove.
Egg Donor Selection and Coordination
Utah Fertility Center's Egg Donor Coordinator can assist you in choosing the most suitable egg donor for you. Personalized care is given when you are going through an egg donor cycle. Once the egg donor has been chosen, they will meet with the egg donor and make sure she is screened appropriately. Screening procedures include health maintenance testing, infectious disease testing, genetic testing, and psychological counseling. Both you and the egg donor will have separate psychological evaluations and counseling to address potential psycho social issues that may arise as a result of third-party reproduction.
The egg donors sign detailed consent forms, relinquishing any rights to the eggs, embryos, and offspring. This ensures that you will have complete control over the embryos created with the donor eggs.
In-House Egg Donor Database
Utah Fertility Center has an outstanding egg donor program in Pleasant Grove with many in-house egg donors. Because they have their own in-house egg donor list, there is no egg donor agency cost if you choose one of the donors on their list. Additionally, you have the option to have a known egg donor, such as a sister or a friend. Many of their in-house donors will also consider an open donation situation as well.
Agency Egg Donor Options
If you prefer an egg donor from an agency, Utah Fertility Center is happy to facilitate that process as well. Their Egg Donor Coordinator can help you find the right agency and will coordinate all aspects of the egg donation process.
Utah Fertility Center's Egg Donor Program has a high success rate, often achieving a 75% pregnancy rate and 65% take-home baby rate. Most commonly, there are remaining embryos that can be cryopreserved and transferred during a subsequent frozen embryo transfer cycle.

My Personal Experience With Utah Fertility Center
If you are struggling to find a clinic and feel like just another number, you may want to consider the Utah Fertility Center. After struggling to find a clinic, I was at my wits' end. Then, I learned about Utah Fertility Center during one of our support group meetings. At the time, they had an egg donor that I had found on Donor Egg Bank, so I reached out to see if she was available to do a fresh donation, and she was!
My coordinator, Kristi, provided me with basic fertility information, including the previous cycle and whether the donor had any previous pregnancies with her own eggs. The next step was to have a consult with Tonya and Dr. Foulk.
Speaking with Tonya was a breath of fresh air. For the first time, I felt like someone actually heard me. She asked me to share my journey, and even two years later, I can still remember her saying, “Wow, what a journey that you have had, and you deserve to be a mom. We will do everything possible to help you get your little one.” Dr. Foulk was also caring and listened to all my concerns. He encouraged us to come out to Utah so he could do his own ultrasound before I transferred.
When my donor cycled, the communication was excellent. Due to the donor being anonymous, I was told when the donor showed up for her baseline appointment. In addition, I received a call when she went back to the clinic for her ultrasound checks, the day she triggered, her retrieval day, how many eggs fertilized, and on Day 5 & 6. Do not expect to get a call on Day 3; they limit the number of times they take them out of the incubator for assessment.
Our egg donor did a fantastic job. They retrieved 25 eggs, 16 fertilized, and 12 embryos were sent off for testing. We ended up with 10 PGS tested perfect little embryos. I flew to Utah for my transfer but ultrasounds and lab work was done locally in my home state. My Coordinator sent me orders, and the clinic sent everything to Utah. If you are considering using UFC you can contact your local clinic or hospital to see if they will do outside monitoring before beginning treatment. My first transfer was successful but led to an early miscarriage. Utah Fertility has stuck beside me every step of the way and has refused to let me give up. I plan to go back next year for a transfer and pray that this will be the year I finally achieve my goal of bringing home my baby. Several members of Every Shade of Fertility have used Utah Fertility as their home clinic to bring home their little one. You can also visit the Facebook group Utah Egg Donor Mamas and find many success stories there as well.
I also invite you to explore my free mini-course, “Your Match: A Guide to Donor Selection for Women of Color.” This course stands as a comprehensive guide, specially designed for women of color who are determined to make informed, culturally resonant choices in their search for an egg donor. You'll be equipped to confidently navigate the complex legal and ethical aspects of the process. Most importantly, the course provides emotional and psychological support, uniquely tailored to reflect your personal journey. This guide is more than just a resource; it's a companion on your path to building your family.
